Happy Mother's Day!!!
Just thought I better document my thoughts tonight before life crowds them away and they're lost forever. I am so thankful and blessed for my life! I love being a mother! It is truly the best thing that has ever happened to me! I feel so very blessed this day to be married to the most incredible man in the world, to be the mother of three wonderful little boys, to have my own mother and mother-in-law so close and such a blessing to me, to also have my grandmothers and Jake's grandma as wonderful examples who also help mother me. What a wonderful day today has been! Jake woke up and made me a gourmet breakfast of whole wheat pancakes and fresh fruit (my favorite!) we went to our ward at 9 o'clock and the primary sang. Dalton had to basically drag Gunnar up there, but at least Gunnar went up. Once Gunnar got up on the stand he hid behind Dalton practically the whole time! They were so cute! Jake's cousin, Shane, spoke about the influence mothers of young children have on their children, he paid tribute to Geana and the awesome job she's doing with their young boys, I couldn't agree more! It was a wonderful talk. After our sacrament we went to Jake's parents and grandparents' sacrament in our same building while Dalton and Gunnar were in Primary. Jake was asked a few weeks ago to speak in their ward and pay tribute to his mom and grandma. What an awesome job he did! I got a headache from crying so much! He talked about what a good example his mom, Joyce, has always been of living the gospel, magnifying her callings (even when some of them scared her to death! Such as when she was called to be the RS president), reading her scriptures, and giving service to others. He talked about how she always encouraged and allowed him to be independent and explore, build, and play. He asked his Grandma, Fae, to stand up. He said even though she may be small (4 ft. 10) that she has made a large impact on the lives of her family. He talked about how all five of her children are sealed in the temple active members of the church and how all of her grandchildren and greatgrandchildren are active members of the church. He said that one of the things his grandma and mom did to raise good kids is to be consistent about having regular family home evenings. For the past 30 years the Weston's hold monthly extended family family home evenings. He brought one of the family home evening scrapbooks and read off a few examples of simple family home evening activities they've done over the years. He wanted to stress the point that it doesn't have to be anything elaborate, just a little thought, planning, prayer, and CONSISTENCY pays off a hundred fold.
After Jake's parents ward, we got Dalton and Gunnar from primary and came home and Jake made us delicious hamburgers for lunch! I then tried to take a nap (it's kindof hard with three rambunctious boys in the same house!) I finally gave up and we took the kids outside and played in the yard then went for a family walk. I called my grandma's on the phone to wish them a happy mother's day then we went to visit my mom and she had just made some fresh brownies-yum! Then we went to see Jake's mom and to talk to Jake's sister, Jenny, who was calling from her mission in Carlsbad, California. It was so good to hear Jenny's voice again! I haven't heard her voice in over a year! Dalton said as we were driving over there that he couldn't remember what her voice sounded like. It was good for he and Gunnar to get to talk to her. While Jenny was on the phone she had Dallas and Joyce give the sister-in-laws and Lori a vase of flowers and a card that Jenny had sent each of us! She is so thoughtful!
Yesterday Jake helped his Dad all day work on his new barn he's building. They got the rest of the metal roof put on so now it's pretty much weathered in. Friday was Ashley's birthday, Randy had called and asked if Dalton and Gunnar could sleepover Friday night so we took them over there and had cake and icecream. I got up yesterday morning and went and picked up a bountiful basked Sharell had ordered for me, it had all sorts of fresh fruits and veggies! We had fresh corn on the cob from it today with our hamburgers-so good! After I got all the fruit and vegetables put away I rounded up all Dalton's soccer stuff and went out to Randy and Ashley's to pick up the boys and take them to Dalton's soccer game. My Dad and and Jake's Aunt Lisa and cousin Chelsey came to watch Dalton play. Dalton thought it was way cool to have more people cheering for him! He played great! He loves having a big audience! Usually it's just me and Gunnar and Ridge, sometimes Jake comes when he's not doing some huge project, and my mom has came a few times. After Dalton's game we went and picked up my mom and went out to Clinton to Flint's nursery to get flowers! I'm so excited to plant flowers this year. I wasn't able to last year because of all my problems right before having Ridge and all summer after he was born. My sweet neighbors, Donna and Michael Spears, came over and planted flowers in my front flower bed last year. Most of them died though because we didn't have a sprinkling system yet and the soil in that flower bed was so sandy the plants didn't do very well. So after we went to Flint's we went to Slaterville and got some compost and covered my mom's back flower beds-they look great! My dad kept the boys for awhile and we went to my house and my mom helped my take all the sand out of my front flower bed, probably at least ten big wheelbarrows full, and then Jake would dump each load for us. We finally got the whole thing cleared out so I can fill it back in with compost and good soil and plant my flowers:) I am so sore today from all the shoveling! Nothing like a hard day's work;)

Jake's B-day dinner

Jake and his friend Blake both have their birthdays in April, so to celebrate we went to dinner at this all you can eat Sushi bar in Layton. Jake and I have eaten there once before and really liked it. For those of you who know Jake, he's really into new and exotic food-the more exotic the better! He could eat sushi for every meal if it wasn't so expensive! We had a good time and between the four of us polished off 3 full plates of sushi rolls-yummy! Thanks for the fun night, Blake and Jessica, and for letting me steal these pictures off your blog!
