The Mighty Hunters Return

Jake got this brute just before dark on opening day!

David, Doug, Jake, Dalton, Dallas, and Gunnar with Jake's deer the next morning. It took all of them to help pack this monster buck out of there!

My handsome boys!

I love this picture of Gunnar and Jake shed hunting. Gunnar came home with a huge elk shed, it's almost as big as he is!

Doug and Dallas both filled their tags on Monday. 3 tags = 3 deer = memories to last a lifetime!

Gunnar and Dalton had a great time driving the four wheelers around. Jake assures me that they did wear their helmets, Gunnar was just posing for the camera;) Jake let Gunnar drive the four wheeler when they drug his huge buck back to camp, he was on cloud nine!

Jake photoshopped this picture to look like an old timer photo. I love how it turned out!
Jake, Dalton, Gunnar, Dallas, Doug and David all went deer hunting over fall break. They left Thursday afternoon and were supposed to be gone until Tuesday. Because they filled all three tags they were able to come home a day early. They got home about 10 Monday night. They had a blast! I missed them so much and am so glad to have them home! I'm also really looking forward to some fresh deer tenderloins- yummy!

Fall Fun

I took Kara to meet the Great Grandma's at the assisted living center in Layton. This is Grandma Dalton's "cheese" smile! Isn't she cute! 93 years old and still has her sense of humor.  Kara even gave her a kiss bye bye! When we were leaving Grandma said, "Alayna, you're a good mom." Such a tender moment. I love this lady! So much of who I am today is from her loving influence so to hear her say that means the world!

Kara kept Grandma Marlow pretty entertained:)

We went to the grand opening of the Weston's Pumpkin patch. Shane and Geana and their boys plant a pumpkin patch every year. We love this fun tradition! Kara had a good time playing in their sandbox:)

Gunnar and his great pumpkin he picked out. I love it when he poses nicely for the camera!

Dalton and his ginormous pumpkin. The rule this year was they couldn't pick a pumpkin bigger than they could carry by themselves. Good thing Dalton has big muscles!

Ridge's pumpkin made a perfect chair!

So did Kara's!

I think Kara's may have been bigger than she could carry;)

Love this picture of Kara smiling! She always seems to want to be so serious whenever the camera is out:)

Kara had a good time feeding and petting Jerry and Jill's goats- she loves animals!

Kara thinks this pumpkin looks about right!

The kids all had fun being pulled around in the wagon behind the lawnmower.

Geana is a great chauffeur!

Just one cute fall picture of the kids and I together- is that too much to ask?

Is it?

Really?

Apparently so...

We had a great conference Sunday. All the conference talks were amazing! In between conferences we got together with my sisters and their families and had lunch. After conference we went to Jake's sisters', Lori's, house and had a delicious dinner of kale and sausage soup, home made bread- thanks to Randy and Ashley, and cute temple cupcakes that Lori and Jenny made. It was a wonderful day!

I had to throw this picture in here of Kara's cute hair! I've been having so much fun fixing her hair! It's so fun having a little girl in our home!

Ridge's preschool class took a field trip to Cold Springs Trout farm. They have a little "pirate" corn maze and each kid gets to choose a little pumpkin at the end. It was fun, even though it was freezing cold!

Afterwards we got to feed the fish!

Ridge and Jay are in the same preschool class this year. Ridge thinks that Jay is pretty awesome! We love having our cousins so close!

Duck Hunting

Jake took Dalton and Gunnar out duck hunting first thing this morning. It was their first time and they loved it! I think it's safe to say that they're hooked- just like their dad! Gary and Bryce went out at like 4 in the morning and saved them a spot. Jake didn't think the boys would have a good time waiting in the cold for daylight so he let them sleep until about 6. The boys were troopers, they had to hike about a mile and a half through the marsh to get to the hunting spot and they didn't complain a bit! So proud of my tough little boys! I'm also so grateful that Jake spends the time with them that he does teaching them and making memories:)
