Candace tagged me a while ago, so I guess I've put this off long enough. Here is 7 random things about me:
1. I love the outdoors! I guess it comes from my dad not having any boys so us girls were raised like boys. My dad would always take us hunting with him. We loved that time in the mountains enjoying the beauties of nature and eating starbursts and snickers! I was about 16 and was the first (and probably only) one to volunteer to gut the deer! Now I'm married to an obsessed hunter and I've drawn a cow elk tag this year so I'll be back on the mountain soon!
2. This one probably goes with the outdoors topic, but I also love skiing! Snow skiing, water skiing- LOVE IT! Wish I could do it more!
3. I can talk and sing with my mouth closed. It's a great conversation starter! Or when you're at a party and there's a lull in conversation. If anyone wants to learn, I'll teach ya!
4. I always sleep with one foot out. If I don't I will suffocate and die! Somehow I just can't breathe with both my feet under the covers! I remember telling my Grandma Dalton about 10 years ago that I did that, and she says that she does the same thing! Maybe it's a hereditary thing.
5. I used to be a skid loader operator. I worked for a company that sold bulk landscaping products like top soil, bark, gravel etc. The trucks would come in and I would load them up!
6. I'm not very organized. I like my house to look clean, but with 2 wild boys it's pretty tough, so sometimes when I'm trying to straighten up in a hurry, I stuff stuff anywhere I can find: In drawers and cabinets, closets, the garage! I hate that I do this! It makes it so hard to try to find things when I need them, I'm always trying to remember where I stashed it! I think I need professional help!
7. I like the smell of horse sweat and manure! Gross I know! I have always loved horses, and somehow the smell of them is so comforting to me. It's the smell of fresh country air!

I finally did it!
I finally did it! I chopped my hair! Well, I didn't actually cut it, Candace did. But after a lifetime of having long hair it is now short! I told Candace I still had to be able to put it in a pony tail cuz that's all I ever do with it, so now I have a little duck butt for a pony tail! I like my new cut, still figuring out how to style it now, but it's a nice change- especially cuz it's been so dang hot!

What Gunnar is Afraid of
So I got a funny story. Gunnar has figured out how to climb out of his crib so now naptime and bedtime is pretty tough. The first time he climbed out he came running downstairs saying,"I did it! I got out myself!" So last night he came into our room after he had been put to bed and he said "I'm scared!" and I asked him what he was scared of and he said, "Mickey Mouse!" Dalton thought this was hilarious so he asked him again what he was scared of and Gunnar said, "Cinderella!" Silly boys!

Fourth Of July!!
Plain City has the best fourth of July celebration! The boys got to be in the kids bike parade this year. Laura helped Dalton decorate his bike. Doesn't it look good! Gunnar got to ride in a wagon with Shane and Geana's boys Dakota and Camron. They had lots of fun!
Jake's grandparents were Plain City's Grand Marshals this year. What an honor for them! It was fun watching them ride by in a fancy convertible in the parade. I'll have to get a better picture of them from Jake's parents.
It was nice this year to not have to worry about being in charge of any of the events this year. Jake has been the chairman for the 4th and has also been over the ATV Dirby. It was nice this year to not have to worry about any of that! Instead we got to come home and start on the rock on the outside of the house. Not exactly my idea of fun, but we're making progress. Jake has this quote hanging on our fridge from his bowhunting idol Camron Hanes it says, "the greater the sacrifice the greater the reward." It's a good daily reminder for me:)
My Crazy Life!
So, I never would have considered myself a blogger, I've never even heard of the word "blog" until just a few months ago! But my sisters talked me into this, and Natalie set this whole thing up for me-(thanks Nadder!) so here I go blogging!
As most people know we've been under construction for over a year now, so that consumes most of our time. We've been doing the work ourselves so it has been a very long process. So between our home makeover, raising two wild boys, and being in the relief society presidency, I figured I had absolutely no time for this blogging thing, but maybe it will be a good "out" for me. And I love the idea of a scrapbook/journal structure. I'm a big slacker at both of those so maybe I'll do better at this:)
