Girls Camp

The camp theme was Catch The Wave of Righousness. Each day was some type of ocean related theme. One day's theme was pirates. The girls were divided into teams to go on a treasure hunt. They had to complete different challenges, whoever finished first, got the most points, and found the hidden treasures along the way won. The challenge I was in charge of was the "good friend stick" they had to lick and stick as many lifesavers as they could on one girls face in a limited time, it was hilarious!

Our ward is amazing!

The first night the girls performed their skits. One of our very talented beehives wrote a rap for us to perform. We were the "dazzling darling dolphins" -here's a few lines from our rap: we may dance like dolphins, but we rock the house cuz the party don't start til sixth ward walks in! Our standards are high- better watch out guys! Our bishop is young, but he has no hair, we don't care- he's the dizzle sizzle!

Our stake leaders were the crabs. Here's a few lines from their skit: "We are the crabs, you think we're crabby, but we are happy! You want to cook us, but that is bad!" Then they did the cutest dance to the song by Sean Kingston -Call 911 fire burning on the dance floor. - It was awesome!

The zipline- the pictures speak for themselves-AWESOME!

What a whirlwind the past few weeks have been! I spent the week of July 19-23 at the Heber Valley camp for our Stake Girls Camp. What an amazing week it was! Thanks so much to my family for watching the boys so I was able to go! Monday- Laura watched them, Tues.-Geana, Weds. and Thurs. Jake took off work to stay home with them, Friday-Joyce watched them until I got home in the afternoon.

What a neat, neat, experience girls camp was! The girls were so much fun to be around, the camp was amazing, the stake did an incredible job- it was awesome! The stake had it structured similar to EFY (I never had the opportunity to go to EFY, but that's what some of the girls said). They had us very scheduled but each activity was incredible! There was a challenge course with a zipline, a hike to the lake, canoeing, a virtue walk which our wonderful stake young women's presiden-Sharon Hall- took the girls to a beautiful overlook where she stood holding a gold flag (virtue) and discussed the importance of living a virtuous life. The spirit was so strong and I'm sure it was life changing for everyone there.

Up until camp I was really struggling with this calling. Feeling overwelmed, inadequate, etc. But up at camp I really was able to connect with the girls, feel the spirit, and trust that the Lord really does put us where he needs us and where we need to be.

Welcoming McKenna Kusuda!

McKenna and her big brother, Kade.

My sister, Candace, had her little baby girl on Tues. July 13th 2010. She weighed 5lbs. 11 oz. and she is absolutely beautiful!

Tyler and Amy's Wedding

My cute cousin and best buddy, Tyler, married his sweetheart of 13 years, Amy, on July 16th. What a neat day that was. Tyler and Amy both have downsyndrome and are the sweetest people you'll ever meet. They've waited a long time for this special day. They got married in the Bountiful Temple. There was such a special feeling there. I'm so grateful to be able to share this day with them.

Dalton Lost a TOOTH!

Last night was the final ARISE performance (more about that later), so I didn't get home until after 11pm. The kids were still awake waiting up for me because Dalton was so excited that he had finally lost a tooth! We didn't even know he had a loose tooth! He said he was chewing on a toy and the tooth just fell out! He was so excited to show me! I helped him put it in a bag to put under his pillow for the tooth fairy. The tooth fairy took it and left him a dollar! He was so excited! Now I need to finish packing for girl's camp in the morning:)

Summer Updates

Ridge loves getting into the kitchen cupboards and pulling everything out! Doesn't he look proud of himself?

Dalton and Gunnar playing in our little irrigation ditch we flood the back lawn with.

The boys love playing on the flooded lawn!
My favorite thing about this summer is that we FINALLY have a YARD! I'm LOVING it! It's so nice to be able to just send the kids outside to play on the grass. I found this playset for a pretty good deal on KSL and Jake and I built the sandbox for it, the kids have loved it!
Ridge and Grandma Weston at Rockport.

Gunnar gained a lot of confidence on his bike riding around "Weston" camp, he also loved to ride with his best buddy Dakota.

Gunnar loved to "drive" the boat with Jake.

Fishin' in Grandpa's boat.

Ridge didn't mind wearing the lifejacket. It was so cute on him too!
Dalton holding one of the huge trout he caught.

I can't believe how fast this summer is flying by! It has been crazy busy! Lately my life has been consumed with Young Women's. I was put in as Young Women's president the end of February. The youth in our ward are involved in the ARISE youth spectacular. It's a big church production involving 30 stakes and over 3000 kids. There's singing and dancing and a TON of practices! This past week they had three practices, plus I had a stake camp meeting (did I mention our stake girls camp is the week after the ARISE performance!) plus the youth had to go out Weds. night to sell flags! Saturday I spent seven hours with the youth up at Weber State at a big ARISE practice.
The first two weeks of June Gunnar took swimming lessons at North Ogden Aquatic center. I'm so proud of him, he did awesome!
Dalton played soccer this spring and also T-ball into the first few weeks of June. He is quite the little athlete!
Ridge is quite the monkey these days! He's crawling like a champ and cruising on furniture, he'll be walking before we know it!
I turned the big 29 on June 15th, Dalton keeps reminding me that the big 3-0 is right around the corner! For my birthday I woke up to Dalton handing me a beautiful homemade card he had made all by himself! What a thoughful little boy! It made my day! My sister-in-law, Lori, took the boys in the afternoon while I enjoyed a much needed nap! Afterwards Jake took me out to this delicious sushi bar in Ogden, then we did a little shopping and I got a few new shirts.
The last week in June we went with all the Weston's to Rockport for the annual family camping trip. There were about 55 of us there! We had a whole campground and little lake inlet to ourselves, it was so much fun! The kids all brought their bikes and had a great time riding around "Weston" camp. We borrowed Shane and Geana's big tent and set up the playpen inside for Ridge. Dalton and Gunnar loved sleeping in the tent. We had such a fun time with our little family telling ghost stories. I told the classic "bloody finger" story I remembered from when I was in elementary school, the boys thought it was hilarious! It is now they're very favorite ghost story! Gunnar loves to tell it to anyone who will listen. Ridge didn't sleep so well in the tent, but what did I expect? He's not the best sleeper when we're at home either! The kids had fun playing in the water, Uncle David brought some rafts the kids sure had a fun with. Camping with the Weston's wouldn't be the same without some awesome fishing! We got to go out in Jake's dad's boat for awhile Friday morning and catch some monstrous rainbow and brown trout. Glad we were able to help contribute to the delicious fish fry friday night. We had about 60 fish fried up and everyone brought a pot luck to share- so yummy! It was such a fun trip!
