We just got back from our last vacation of the summer before school starts. We stayed at my parents cabin in Lava, Idaho. My parents and all my sisters and their husbands came. My sisters and I were each in charge of a meal. Candace and Jeff fed us yummy shredded pork sandwiches, corn on the cob, coleslaw, and fresh watermelon. Natalie and Clayton made us yummy German pancakes and hashbrowns. Laura and Brandon whipped us up some delicious french toast, eggs, and sausage. Jake and I did a Mexican Fiesta dinner Friday night. Street tacos: chicken or beef, with cabbage, 4 different homemade salsas- courtesy of Jake, pico, cabbage, cilantro, pickled red onions, avocado, lime, queso fresca, corn tortillas, black beans with pepper jack cheese, fresh pineapple, and tortilla chips. It was delcious! We also had some lights and mexican music. My sisters busted out their best latino dance moves. It was a fun night!
Friday morning I got up and went for a run while Jake took the boys hiking. After breakfast we went to Lava and tubed the river. Then we went to a park and had lunch and the kids played for a bit. Then we went back to the cabin and the younger kids napped and my Dad, Jeff, Clayton, and Brandon took Dalton, Gunnar, and Kade fishing. Jake and I started prepping everything for our Fiesta later that night.
