Gunnar really needed a haircut!

Jake and I were lucky enough to go to two dress up grown-up Halloween parties. At one of them we went on a scavenger hunt and one of the things we needed to find was someone who looked like someone in our group. We thought this group of random guys at Wal-Mart looked like Jake's twins;)

One of the games the first graders played was to dress up one of their team mates as a mummy.

Dalton is the middle mummy.

We have had quite the month of Halloween! It has been such a crazy busy but way fun month! Gunnar's class went on a field trip to the fish farm & corn maze in North Ogden, Jake was gone hunting a good chunk of the month, I took the boys & went with my mom, Natalie, and Kynlee to the Punkinaze corn maze in West Haven, the kids had their Halloween parties and parade on Thursday, then no school on Friday. I was one of the room moms helping with the first grade party this year. It was quite a crazy day trying to have us all dressed up and to the school by 8:15 for Dalton's parade, then have Gunnar to preschool at 9 (good thing he's at the same school), then I hurried home to feed Ridge his breakfast, then take him to Jake's mom's so I could go help with the first grade games. Then Saturday we took the kids to my parents', Jake's grandparents', Jake's parents, then trick or treating through almost all of Plain City with Braxton, Dakota, and Geana. (Jake and Shane volunteered to stay home with Ridge and Cam and pass out candy.) There's a family who live a few blocks away who do a spook alley in their garage every year. Dalton begged me to take him, he went last year and loved it. So Geana and i agreed to take them. We were waiting in line and one of the volunteers told us that we weren't allowed to have more than four in a group (counting Geana and I we had six). We couldn't just send the boys in by themselves so we split them up. Geana took Braxton and Dalton and I took Dakota and Gunnar. Hind sight is 20/20 but I really should have realized that this may have not been the best arrangement. As soon as we walked into the haunted house it was a dark maze and every dead end we came to there was someone who would jump out, blow an airhorn, and say DEAD END! Gunnar and Dakota were in tears within seconds. I finally had to ask one of the masked men to remove their mask and please help us find our way out. We found Geana and the other two boys who were jumping up and down with excitement and going on and on about how awesome the haunted house was. Geana took Dakota and she and I managed to get the younger boys calmed down enough to agree to get back to trick or treating. Dalton and Braxton were begging to go through the haunted house again so Geana said she would take the younger two if I wanted to take them back to the haunted house. As I was walking back with Dalton and Braxton I told them there were two rules they needed to follow in order to go back in the Spook Alley. #1 they each needed to give me a piece of candy (hey, I was starving!), #2 they had to STAY WITH ME! Just as we were about to go in I asked them ok, what's the rule? Braxton said, "we know, give you our candy!" That got a few chuckles out of the other parents!
Sunday we took the kids to see my Grandma Dalton and Grandma Marlow. It was nice having Halloween spread over a few days this year instead of having to cram everything into one day like we usually do. What a fun Halloween we've had this year! The boys are at such fun ages. I'm really enjoying my boys and loving the memories we're making:)
